Kick Ass!

This comic book totally Kicks-Ass

Kick Ass is one of many comic books to be turned into a Hollywood film. It proved a huge hit with comic book fans and action film lovers alike. It combines comedy, tension and ass-kicking stunt scenes. It brings the comic to life, adding heart pounding moments as well as light hearted comedy.

Even if you are a true comic book fan and believe that the film could never live up to the original, give Kick Ass a go. Try watching a few trailers while you are online, whether you are reading comics on the web or playing partypoker, the trailers are a great way to have a small taster of the film.

The film has been cast perfectly. We get a real sense of a bumbling nerd from British actor, Aaron Johnson. His glasses, scraggy hair and general persona make you sympathize with him. Then we come to the two professional assassins, Hit Girl and Big Daddy. The deadly father – daughter duo, are played by Nicholas Cage and starlet Chloe Moretz. Cage plays a character you don’t know whether to despite or side with; he is technically a murdering criminal, but only because he seeks revenge on the man who lead to his wife’s death. Despite being a typical antagonist, he has a kind and protective nature towards his daughter. Hit Girl brings the whole film to life. It is incredible to see such a young girl act so cruelly, yet the occasional glimmer of innocence is revealed. We see this when she pleads to go bowling and have chocolate ice cream as a reward after her assassin training. She also adds moments of tension and absolute awe, as we see her fight off a group of dim-witted gangsters.

When the characters collide, we see teamwork, friendship, but best of all, action packed stunt scenes. Something you couldn’t imagine yourself from reading the comic.
