About Us
Nifty Comics was founded in 1995 by Mat Nastos in an effort to develop a group of comics that were well-written, well-drawn and suitable for all ages to read - to return to the type of books he read while growing up. His second goal was to explore many of the untapped markets available and suitable for the comics medium, in addition to the more traditional avenues already in use by the industry.
In late 1995, Nifty Comics published its first comic book, a three issue series called the Cadre. The book proved to quite a success, selling its entire print run in just over a month. Further, Nifty Comics is still getting mail (regular and e-mail) about the Cadre years later from its fans asking for more. 2005 brought Nifty back to the realm of ongoing comic publishing once more with the release of the all-new Cadre bi-monthly series.
Currently, the company has a network of freelance artists who work on a variety of Nifty Comics projects - traditional comic books, online comics, character design and comic development projects - all bearing the Nifty Comics logo.
